Senior Solutions Consultant

MakeShift is looking for an experienced Senior Solutions Consultant with deep expertise in Workforce Management (WFM) systems and enterprise-level scheduling.

At MakeShift, we're not just about managing time—we're about saving it, improving it, and championing a superior employee experience through smarter scheduling. We’re dedicated to #WhatReallyMatters: empowering organizations and making life easier for everyone involved.

The Role

This is a key pre-sales role where you will act as a subject matter expert, advising potential clients on how MakeShift’s platform can solve their complex scheduling, compliance, and workforce optimization challenges.

The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable about WFM rules, labor regulations, and industry-specific scheduling needs, with extensive experience in WFM platforms such as UKG, ADP, Ceridian Dayforce, and SAP SuccessFactors, alongside a strong understanding of enterprise systems like SAP and Oracle.

You will collaborate with both clients and internal teams to assess business requirements, analyze complex scheduling and compliance needs, and ensure that MakeShift's platform aligns with those demands while communicating how MakeShift’s platform delivers value in terms of flexibility, scalability, and compliance.

As the company continues to grow, you will build and lead a team of WFM consultants, starting with a hands-on approach to client engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-Sales Consulting: Collaborate with sales during client engagements to understand business requirements, workforce challenges, and operational goals. Act as a WFM expert, helping to identify how MakeShift can best address client needs.

  • RFP Management: Lead the RFP response process, collaborating with sales, product, and engineering teams to ensure timely and accurate responses to client RFPs. Ensure that all WFM-specific and technical aspects are thoroughly addressed.

  • Complex WFM Rule Interpretation: Analyze and interpret intricate WFM rules, labor compliance requirements, and scheduling challenges specific to the client's industry. Translate these into requirements for the product team.

  • Product Demonstration & Client Engagement: Lead detailed product demonstrations, highlighting MakeShift’s advanced capabilities in meeting the specific WFM needs of enterprise clients. Tailor presentations to showcase how MakeShift excels in handling unique business challenges and use cases.

  • Business Requirement Analysis: Work closely with clients to gather and document business requirements, ensuring that all workforce scheduling, time and attendance, and compliance needs are clearly understood and communicated to internal teams.

  • Solutioning: Collaborate with internal product and engineering teams to ensure the platform can meet the detailed WFM needs of enterprise clients, providing feedback based on real-world client scenarios.

  • Build and Lead a Team:  Initially, you will work hands-on, directly engaging with clients and internal teams. Over time, you will be responsible for building and leading a team of WFM consultants to support pre-sales and client success as the company scales.

  • Industry Expertise: Serve as the internal and external WFM expert, staying informed on industry trends, changes in labor regulations, and emerging technologies related to workforce management and scheduling.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in Workforce Management (WFM), with deep expertise in staff scheduling, labor compliance, and workforce optimization.

  • In-depth knowledge of WFM systems.

  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret complex WFM rules, including labor laws, overtime regulations, shift patterns, and multi-location workforce management across industries.

  • Experience working in a pre-sales capacity, advising on technical and business requirements, and presenting complex solutions to senior decision-makers.

  • Expertise in managing the RFP process, ensuring that all technical and functional requirements are comprehensively met.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and influencing executives on the value of workforce management solutions.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into clear documentation and collaborate effectively with product and engineering teams to ensure alignment with client needs.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to build, mentor, and manage a team of WFM consultants over time.
