The Role
We are seeking a skilled technical business analyst to join our team. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, technical proficiency, and the ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation.
As a technical business analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing, documenting, and optimizing our employee scheduling app and related systems.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, marketing, implementation, client success, and sales, to ensure that our solutions meet both technical requirements and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes, systems, and data to identify areas for improvement and optimization in our scheduling and time management solutions.
Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, including data models, process flows, and system integration points.
Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure accurate implementation of business requirements, participating in sprint planning, and refining acceptance criteria.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including requirements documents, user stories, and technical specifications.
Analyze data using SQL and other analytical tools to provide insights and support data-driven decision-making.
Assist in the design and execution of test plans to ensure the quality and functionality of new features and integrations.
Support the product team in prioritizing the backlog based on technical feasibility and business value.
Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Stay informed about industry trends, market landscape, and best practices in workforce management technology.
Contribute to the development of integration strategies with third-party vendors and partners.
Participate in the analysis and definition of KPIs for product performance and provide regular reports on system efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience as a business analyst in a technology company, with a focus on software development and system integration.
Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development or database management.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in a scrum environment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and logically.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information to various stakeholders.
Experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and translating business needs into technical specifications.
Ability to create detailed process flows, data models, and system diagrams.
Familiarity with workforce management concepts and technologies is a plus.
Candidates must successfully complete a criminal background check prior to starting in this role.
Nice to Have
Experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, Django, or other relevant programming languages.
Knowledge of API integrations and RESTful web services.
Familiarity with product analytics tools and data visualization platforms.
Experience working in a startup environment.
Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or relevant technical certifications.
Experience with SAP ECC, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle Fusion, Workday.
