The Role

We are seeking a skilled technical business analyst to join our team. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, technical proficiency, and the ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation.

As a technical business analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing, documenting, and optimizing our employee scheduling app and related systems.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, marketing, implementation, client success, and sales, to ensure that our solutions meet both technical requirements and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes, systems, and data to identify areas for improvement and optimization in our scheduling and time management solutions.

  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, including data models, process flows, and system integration points.

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure accurate implementation of business requirements, participating in sprint planning, and refining acceptance criteria.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including requirements documents, user stories, and technical specifications.

  • Analyze data using SQL and other analytical tools to provide insights and support data-driven decision-making.

  • Assist in the design and execution of test plans to ensure the quality and functionality of new features and integrations.

  • Support the product team in prioritizing the backlog based on technical feasibility and business value.

  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, market landscape, and best practices in workforce management technology.

  • Contribute to the development of integration strategies with third-party vendors and partners.

  • Participate in the analysis and definition of KPIs for product performance and provide regular reports on system efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience as a business analyst in a technology company, with a focus on software development and system integration.

  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development or database management.

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data analysis and visualization tools.

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in a scrum environment.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and logically.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information to various stakeholders.

  • Experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and translating business needs into technical specifications.

  • Ability to create detailed process flows, data models, and system diagrams.

  • Familiarity with workforce management concepts and technologies is a plus.

  • Candidates must successfully complete a criminal background check prior to starting in this role.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, Django, or other relevant programming languages.

  • Knowledge of API integrations and RESTful web services.

  • Familiarity with product analytics tools and data visualization platforms.

  • Experience working in a startup environment.

  • Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or relevant technical certifications.

  • Experience with SAP ECC, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle Fusion, Workday.
